Chair

by Norman Foster for Emeco

Designed for the Smithsonian expansion in Washington, D.C., the elegantly streamline 20-06 chair uses 15% less recycled aluminum than the 1006 Navy Chair, and has a tensile strength three times stronger than steel. The 20-06 Chair is stackable to 10 high and suitable for outdoor use.

Made in the USA | Standard Lead Time: 4 weeks

Dating back to 1944, when it first handcrafted its 1006 Navy Chair for use on WWII submarines, Emeco has continuously manufactured aluminum furniture in its single production plant in Hanover, PA. Using a proprietary 77-step process, Emeco uses 80% recycled aluminum content, half which is post consumer (soft drink cans) and half postindustrial (manufacturing scrap). Emeco all-aluminum chairs are 100% recyclable, extremely low-maintenance, and impervious enough for outdoor use. Adding to its small eco footprint, Emeco all-aluminum chairs are guaranteed for a lifetime, which makes for a lesser impact on the earth’s resources.
